Our school is a primary public school. It is located in the city centre-Aksaray.

• Aksaray, a historical city in the center of the country famous for its Ottoman, Karamanoğlu and Seljuk buildings, is now hoping this legacy will attract more media production companies.

• Aksaray might be overshadowed by the natural wonders of nearby Cappadocia

• Aksaray is famous for Ihlara Valley. It is one of the biggest valley of Turkey. This picturesque valley, amazing natural beauty is placed on between Nevsehir and Aksaray road. One of the unique canyons, Ihlara Valley hypnotizes the visitors both its breath-taking, brilliant scenery of nature and its fascinating churches, monasteries carved into the soft rocks which creates awesome atmosphere.

Zafer Primary school is one of the oldest schools in our city

We have about 330 pupils. Our students are from 7 years old to 10 years old that attend 6 hours every day. We have not only Turkish students but also students from other nationalities such

as Iran, Iraq, Syria or Afghanistan. We have nearly 200 students from different nations.

We have 18 staff:

• 1 principal.

• 1 assistant-director.

• 15 teachers.

• 1 officer.

In recent years, there has been a lot of migration from other countries to Turkey. Since Aksaray is in the center of Turkey and is the cross-road, there are a lot of immigrants in Aksaray. In our schools we have students from different countries and the number is increasing every year. The school directors and the teachers don’t have enough training to solve the problems about how to integrate the immigrant students into school. They have communication problems. They have prejudice towards each other. With this project, we want to learn best practices from each other. All the partners have immigrant students so we will exchange ideas for a better integration of the immigrant students. We want to learn such activities that we can implement in our classes so that immigrant students and other students can respect and accept each other. We want to develop the point of view of our education staff. We want them to improve themselves. Thanks to the project activities and preparations, the students and the teachers will develop themselves.

We also have a comenius project experience in 2011. It was about Folktales. It was a great experience for us. We are happy to join in erasmus+ project again to share our knowledge, culture, educational experiences and all other experiences. Our students are eager to learn new things about other countries and cultures. On the other hand they want to improve their foreign language to communicate with our partners.
